The Blockbuster Report
I have to admit that I was excited about The Counselor. And since it turned out to be a stinker I’m going to have to pick a different Film to Catch this weekend. The pickings are pretty slim. In fact, I’m going to go way outside the box (especially for me) and pick a little known documentary: When I Walk.
When I Walk is the story of Jason DeSIlva and his journey with MS. DeSilva chronicled his experience with the disease and put together a beautiful testament to the human spirit. It is only in limited release, so there will be only a few places to see it, but if it is near you, check it out.
Where Do They Come From?
So from last week we had Carrie, adapted from the Stephen King novel, The Fifth Estate, based primarily on two books – “Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World’s Most Dangerous Website” by Daniel Domscheit-Berg, and “WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy” by David Leigh and Luke Hardin, and finally Escape Plan, which is an original.
This week, we have The Counselor, which is novelist Cormac McCarthy’s first original screenplay, and Bad Grandpa, which is also an original.
